7th Day of Passover Yizkor Service

Thursday, April 12 at 6:30 pm

Just as it is customary on the Three Pilgrimage Holidays on the first day of the holiday to hold a service, so too on the last day.  On that last day of the Holiday (in this case, Passover) it is customary to observe Yizkor (Remembrance) and recall those who live in our hearts, but are no longer with us on this earth.  Yizkor commemorates the end of a holiday and the rich memories that we shared with loved ones.

Yom HaShoah Service

Wednesday, April 18 at 7:00 pm

On Holocaust Remembrance Day, Yom HaShoah, we will join as an inter-generational community to keep the memory alive of those who were killed in the Holocaust, and honor the lives of the survivors of the Shoah. The service will be led by our clergy and 9th grade Religious School class.

Israel Celebration

Wednesday, April 25 at 6:00 pm

Join the  Religious School students and the congregation of Shir Ha-Ma’alot for a fun-filled night of celebration for Israel’s birthday! Enjoy our traditional homemade Israeli food and listen to an exciting and inspirational guest speaker.

Shavuot Celebration

Saturday, May 26
Yizkor Service at 6:30 pm / Shavuot Program at 7:00 pm

According to tradition it was on Shavuot that Moses received the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai. To observe this occasion, the Kabbalists would stay up all night learning, studying, and celebrating this wonderful revelation of the Jewish People.  This event for the entire Congregation is a chance to study with many different teachers about relevant and real issues of the soul, spirit and mind.
