Youth Programs
Participating in a Jewish Youth Group is an important way to create a positive connection with the Jewish people and Jewish tradition. Jewish youth groups are also a fun way to make friends that last forever.
SHMoFTY (SHIR HA-MA’ALOT FEDERATION OF TEMPLE YOUTH)

The Shir Ha-Ma’alot 9th-12th Grade Youth Group provides creative ways to bring busy high school teenagers together for fun! Events will include activities specifically for our SHM teens and opportunities to participate in programming through NFTY (the North American Federation of Youth) as well as Jewbilation events through the Bureau of Jewish Education. Many of the programs will be planned by the leadership board. Flyers for each event will be e-mailed to your home a few weeks prior.
JiFTY (JUNIOR FEDERATION OF TEMPLE YOUTH)

This youth group’s purpose is to create an atmosphere of fun social interactions amongst the Jewish teens of Shir Ha-Ma’alot. While most programming is social in nature, Jewish practice, ideas, and values are transmitted at every opportunity. Flyers for each event will be e-mailed to your home a few weeks prior.
MiTY (MINI FEDERATION OF TEMPLE YOUTH)

It is never too early to begin the Youth Group experience. Throughout the year, fun and exciting programs are planned for this group! These events offer each child a fun, warm and safe environment in which to interact with other Jewish kids, make new friends, and of course have fun! Teen Shabbat (8th-12th Grade Services)
This is a wonderful opportunity for teens to experieince Shabbat with each other in a fun environment! The teens meet a few times thoughout the year for fun services including singing and learning. We also offer Shabbat dinners at the Rabbis' homes! Join us for these unique services! Reminders will be e-mailed to your home a few weeks prior. No RSVP is necessary.
Jr. Congregation (3rd-7th Grade Services)
Throughout the year we offer special services for our 3rd through 7th graders. It is a great way for kids to connect to Shabbat on their own level! Services are held in the Youth Lounge at the same time as regular services. Kids will have the opportunity to spend the evening together and experience new songs and activities related to Shabbat! Reminders will be e-mailed to your home a few weeks prior. No RSVP is necessary.
