GRADES 2ND THROUGH 6TH

Judaica- (Every Sunday 9:30-11:45)

As students enter into their classroom on a Sunday morning, they will feel the ruach (spirit/energy) that is welcoming and contagious. Our students begin their Judaica time in their grade level classrooms with their teachers. During this time, the teacher will provide them with a fun, engaging lesson on the appropriate themes for that grade level.

Judaica class time will be enhanced each week with an opportunity to participate in one of our Judaica
Enrichments: Conversational Hebrew, Israeli Dancing and Music. In addition, Sundays will continue to be enriched
by participation in our other chuggim, student chosen electives, each of which brings Jewish tradition to life through active learning. Chuggim include: Jewish art, drama, teva (nature and group building), cooking, and more.

Chuggim are for our 2nd through 6th graders only. Please see the schedule below for the school schedule!

Hebrew Options (3rd - 6th grades)

Sunday Hebrew Chavurah (8:00-9:25– New time!)

Our Sunday Hebrew program meets once a week for Hebrew before
Sunday Judaica session. Students in Sunday Hebrew will have two teachers in their classroom, which will allow them to benefit from small group instruction, forming connections and bonds with other peers in theirgrade level and, of course, their teachers!

Tuesday Hebrew Chavurah (4:45-6:15)

This is our 2-day a week program. In addition to Sunday Judaica,
students attend on Tuesday afternoons for Hebrew. Students in this program will be placed in small groups based on their Hebrew fluency, not grade. Alef (1st level), Bet (2nd level), Gimel/Dalet (3rd/4th level). Another benefit to this Hebrew program is that the levels are fluid and students can move levels throughout the year, based on their understanding and mastery of the Hebrew language and prayers. Students in the Tuesday program join together in a T’fillah/prayer time during the program, giving them twice as much exposure to the prayers and themelodies as the Sunday program offers.

Individual Hebrew Instruction
(scheduled based on your availability)

New this year is a learning option for students who attend Sunday
Judaica, but are unable to attend traditional classroom Hebrew on Sundays or Tuesdays. Our staff will pair students up with an SHM teacher who will travel to your house once a week for a 45-minute one-on-one lesson. If you are interested in this Hebrew program, you must fill out an Individual Instruction form, so that we can best match you up with the appropriate teacher to fit the needs of your child(ren).

Tuesday Hebrew Tutoring- 4:45-6:15 pm

IS YOUR CHILD NEEDING SOME EXTRA PRACTICE WITH THEIR HEBREW SKILLS?

This year, there is a tutoring option for our Hebrew students who need some extra help. This tutoring is offered only on Tuesday nights and is a 45 minute block of time during which a student can be tutored by an adult with years of experience.

Cost is $15 per 45-minute session and must be booked through the Principal by Monday of the week tutoring is needed.
