Learn the history of the Maccabees, and their fight to overthrow an oppressive regime, which would not allow the Jewish people to practice their faith. What lessons can we learn from the Maccabees journey that we can apply to the present? What warnings should we take from their story when we consider how we want to be a community today? We will conclude the class on zoom by everyone lighting their Chanukah candles together.
