Our Chesed Committee is one of the most impactful groups at SHM!
We arrange for support and love for each of our members in their time of need.
If you are interested in becoming a Volunteer, please sign up below and a representative from CHESED will reach out to you soon.

How might you be able to help the CHESED committee?
Call Congregants who are ill (volunteers serve for 1 month at a time)
Call Congregants Who Lost a Loved One (volunteers serve for 1 month a a time)
Make "Wellness" Calls (to check on elderly congregants who live alone (Volunteers stay in touch with their assigned people on an on-going basis)
Provide and Deliver Meals (to congregants at their time of need)
Visit the Ill
Provide Rides to SHM Services or Programs
Provide Rides to Medical Appointments
Provide Shiva House Assistance (plate and serve food; clean up (note: this service is only offered after a congregant passes)
Participate in Shiva Minyanim (attend a short service to say Kaddish)
Assist New Parents (hold the baby, change diapers, give the parents a break, etc)
