EDUCATE, ENGAGE & MOTIVATE

As Jews we know it is our obligation to engage with the world outside our synagogue walls.  This speaker series will help us understand how Orange County government operates, how it affects us, and how we can get involved.  Moderated by Rabbi Steinberg, this 4-part series explores the role that Orange County Government plays in our lives.

Come and learn with us and become more civically engaged Orange County Jews.

UPCOMING SPEAKERS AND DATES:
Session 3 - February 10, 2022 | Orange County Sheriff's Department
Session 4 - Februrary 24, 2022 | Judicial Systems

SESSION 3: ORANGE COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT
Moderated by Rabbi Steinberg

Thursday, February 10 | 7:00 - 8:30 pm
at Congregation Shir Ha-Ma'alot in the Sanctuary

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department is among the largest law enforcement agencies in the country. It impacts many aspects of our lives, both when we are alive, and, for some of us, after we die. The Sheriff primarily enforces State law but also sets internal policies. What are some of these policies? What criteria can we use to decide who to vote for the office? What opportunities are there for volunteering in the Sheriff’s Department? How is our synagogue involved with the Sheriff's Department? Come and learn answers to these questions as we welcome Assistant Sheriff Jeff Puckett and Assistant Chief Deputy Coroner Brad Olsen from the Sheriff's Department to talk about these important topics.
